Concept & History
The development of this series is closely linked to British aviation history. The naming refers to the legendary fighter aircraft of the Royal Air Force. In the reference IW387802 the transformation of a purpose-built navigation instrument into a highly elegant pilot's watch segment. While classic observation watches are mostly defined by matte surfaces and black dials, this execution breaks with conventions and opts for a luxurious interpretation of the aviation theme.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the manufacture movement works Caliber 89365. This mechanical chronograph features an automatic movement and a remarkable Power reserve from 68 hours. The special technical feature is the flyback function, which allows for immediate resetting and restarting of the chronograph with a single push of a button. Incabloc shock protection protects the balance wheel, while a soft iron inner casing serves for magnetic field shielding. The precision is ensured by a frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz) is ensured.
Case & Material
The housing made of Stainless steel points to a Diameter from 43 mm at a height of 15.5 mm on. The processing combines satin and polished surfaces Chamfers, which accentuates the contours of the case. A domed, double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the display from reflections. The construction is designed for a pressure of 6 ATM designed. The case back is screwed on and bears an engraving of the namesake aircraft type.
Aesthetics & Readability
The slate gray Ardoise dial features an intricate sunburst finish that varies depending on the light. The typography of the Arabic numerals and the shape of the hands are based on historical models, but are executed with applied and polished finishes. Rehaut The minute track is precisely integrated at the edge. At 12 o'clock is the 60-minute counter, while the small seconds are positioned at 6 o'clock. Super-LumiNova on the main indices and hands ensures legibility in adverse lighting conditions.
