Concept & History
The Top Gun line represents the technological spearhead of Schaffhausen's pilot's watches. Originally intended for the elite pilots of the US Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor, the reference IW329801 functional instrument aesthetics with uncompromising robustness. With the reduced diameter, the design returns to wearable ergonomics without diluting the historical DNA of observation watches. The consistent matt black look of the case emphasizes the purely tactical character of this professional instrument.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the in-house Caliber 82100. The highly efficient Pellaton elevator builds a 60 hours power reserve The components of the automatic elevator that are subject to particularly high loads are made of virtually wear-free Zirconium oxide ceramic are manufactured. The balance oscillates with a stable amplitude and ensures a precise rate, while the finishing of the movement includes fine Côtes de Genève and an elaborate perlage. A soft iron inner case also reliably protects the sensitive mechanism from magnetic fields.
Housing & material
The housing with 43.8 mm diameter and an overall height of 13.9 mm is made of matt black Ceramics a material that combines extreme scratch resistance and lightness. The closed case back with the characteristic engraving and the easy-grip conical crown are made of Titanium, which noticeably promotes skin compatibility and weight reduction. The elaborate construction guarantees a waterproofness of 10 ATM. The sapphire crystal is anti-reflective on both sides and specially secured against sudden pressure drops in the cockpit.
Aesthetics & readability
The night-black dial is consistently designed for maximum contrast and quick legibility. Large white Arabic numerals and the typical dark-framed propeller hands are coated with a luminous compound, ensuring legibility in all lighting conditions. The minimalist design without a date window ensures absolute visual symmetry, while the discreetly sloping rehaut gives the dial additional depth. The model is worn on a robust textile strap, which can be changed quickly using the brand's own EasX-CHANGE system.
With Manufacturer's warranty until 09/2030 and the condition as good as new, unworn this watch is an almost perfect collector's item and at the same time a functional, elegant tool for the discerning wearer.
