The nautical origins of the manufacturer from Le Locle are profoundly reflected in the diver's watch collection. Designed for professional maritime use, the model combines historical expertise in the field of marine chronometers with modern underwater requirements. The Reference 8163-175/93 dispenses with superfluous elements and focuses on the functional essence. The minimalist design references the history of instrument watches, while modern manufacturing techniques guarantee maximum reliability and authentically emphasize the maritime character of the timepiece.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the reliable Automatic caliber UN-816, which is based on the proven Sellita SW300 and is enhanced by in-house modifications. A key component is the integration of silicon in the escapement group, which significantly increases resistance to magnetic fields. The movement delivers a constant power reserve of 42 hours. The architecture ensures a high level of precision, while the integrated shock protection effectively protects the balance from external forces and impacts.
Housing & material
The robust housing made from solid Stainless steel measures 42 mm in diameter and was designed for demanding pressure conditions. A water tightness of 30 ATM is ensured by the screw-down case back and the heavily ribbed, screw-down crown. The unidirectional rotating diver's bezel with striking relief inlay is used for precise timekeeping under water. The flanks and surfaces of the Stainless steel have an elaborate finish with alternating satin and polished finishes.
Aesthetics & readability
The dial is presented in a matt, maritime blue and has a fine-grained texture. Generously dimensioned indices and the striking hands are covered with luminous material, guaranteeing high-contrast legibility even in minimal light. The date display is integrated symmetrically at 6 o'clock to maintain the balance of the display. A scratch-resistant, anti-reflective coating on both sides Sapphire crystal protects the face of the watch from damage and prevents annoying light reflections.
