The Longines Master Collection
Concept & History
The Master Collection embodies the watchmaking heritage of the Longines brand in its purest form. Since the launch of this line in 2005, the Manufacture has focused exclusively on mechanical movements for this series. The reference L2.628.4.78.6 exemplifies the traditional orientation of the collection, which combines classic design features with reliable Swiss mechanics. The timepiece from 2012 documents the brand's consistency in the construction of instruments that are suitable for everyday use but committed to fine watchmaking traditions.
Caliber & Technology
Precise time recording is ensured by the proven Caliber L619, a mechanical automatic movement based on the solid architecture of the ETA 2892-A2 based. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 A/h and generates a Power reserve from 42 hours. The transparent sapphire crystal case back allows the classic Finissage view. The bridges have a fine Perlage while the elevator rotor with Côtes de Genève is refined. A reliable shock protection system protects the oscillating system from external mechanical influences and ensures constant Amplitude.
Housing & material
The all-round Stainless steel manufactured housing is dimensioned to proportional 38.5 mm in diameter with a flat overall height of 9.2 mm. This dimensioning ensures excellent wearing comfort on the wrist. The surface of the case is completely polished, creating flowing light reflections that emphasize the fine character of the watch. The construction has a tested water resistance of 3 ATM on. A solid link bracelet made of Stainless steel with triple safety folding clasp integrates seamlessly with the case horns.
Aesthetics & readability
The silver-colored dial is characterized by a precise Grains d'Orge guilloché pattern, which gives the face of the watch a fine structure and visual depth. Expressive, black lacquered Arabic numerals ensure a high contrast effect. Thermally blued steel hands support the immediate detection of the time. The date display is symmetrically integrated into the dial at 6 o'clock. A clear minute scale in the outer area harmoniously completes the dial without reducing legibility.
