Porsche Design Heritage P’6520 Compass Watch
Concept & Heritage
The P’6520 is a technically refined reinterpretation of the legendary Compass Watch from 1978 - the first timepiece in the watch industry with an integrated compass. Limited to 911 copies worldwide, this reference embodies the DNA of Porsche Design: functional excellence without aesthetic compromise. The two-layer case concept combines a precision timepiece with a removable liquid compass calibrated for the northern or southern hemisphere.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the tried and tested Sellita caliber SW300 - an automatic movement with 42 hours power reserve, 28,800 semi-oscillations and 25 jewels. The rotor was designed in the style of a Porsche sports car wheel, underlining its automotive provenance. The movement drives a three-hand center system with a second hand and a date display at 3 o'clock.
Housing & materiality
The 42 mm sandblasted housing made of sandblasted Titanium wears a black PVD coating, which combines hardness and hypoallergenicity. The construction height of 14.6 mm includes both the movement and compass module. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the water resistance to 5 ATM robustness guaranteed for everyday use. The individual limited edition number is engraved on the case back.
Aesthetics & readability
The black dial follows the purist design language of 1978: white-coated baton indices and hour/minute hands as well as a red central second and minute hand ensure optimum legibility. Luminous material on the hands and indices enables orientation even in the dark. The scratch-resistant mirror on the back of the case folds out in one movement. 45° angle to the compass unit and enables precise bearings.
