Patek Philippe Chronograph Grande Taille
Historical significance & concept
With the introduction of the reference 5070 In 1998, the manufacture ended an almost 40-year break in the production of purely hand-wound chronographs without a perpetual calendar. Conceived as the direct successor to the legendary reference 1463, this model radically broke with the dimensions of classic dress watches that had been common up to that point. The case measures 42 mm in diameter, which earned the watch the nickname „Grande Taille“. This example from 18k white gold dates from the year 2004 and marks an important era in the modern history of Patek Philippe.
