Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow 3551.20.00
Concept & History
The present reference 3551.20.00 pays detailed tribute to the historic original Speedmaster from 1957. The most striking feature of this model series is the eponymous arrow-shaped hour hand. This design is strongly inspired by the aesthetics of early motorsport chronographs. The creamy white dial and blued appliqués clearly distinguish the watch from regular models and appeal to collectors who want to combine historical design with modern automatic technology.
Caliber & Technology
Inside the housing, the Caliber 3303. This sophisticated automatic movement has a precise column wheel control, which guarantees the exact feel of the chronograph pushers. The elaborate finishing includes rhodium-plated surfaces and fine Côtes de Genève. With a power reserve of 55 hours the movement offers reliable stability. The amplitude shows excellent values even after years in collector's possession and proves the mechanical quality.
Housing & material
The robust housing made of Stainless steel measures 42 mm in diameter and features the curved horns typical of Omega. The precisely crafted chamfers on the edges of the case emphasize the sculptural effect of the design. A fixed bezel with an engraved tachymeter scale completes the instrument's appearance. The front is protected by a sapphire crystal. The case architecture is designed for a water resistance of 10 ATM designed.
Aesthetics & readability
The creamy white dial harmonizes perfectly with the thermally blued Broad Arrow hands and the applied indices. The arrangement of the totalizers follows the classic Tri-Compax structure, complemented by a discreet date display at six o'clock. The rehaut closes the dial precisely to the wall. Super-LumiNova on the hands ensures legibility in the dark, while the strong color contrast creates outstanding functional clarity during the day.
