Ebel 1911 Chronograph El Primero
Concept & History
Reference 11349016 marks a defining era in Swiss watchmaking during the 1990s. This specific model was launched to commemorate the manufacture’s founding year. Flowing lines and five visible screws on the bezel define the line’s distinctive design language. This model is highly prized among knowledgeable collectors, as it combines classic watchmaking with sophisticated mechanics of the highest caliber.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the Ebel Caliber 134 is at work, which is architecturally based on the Zenith El Primero 400. The high-frequency caliber beats at 36,000 vph and generates a stable amplitude along with 50 hours of power reserve. A column wheel mechanism coordinates all chronograph functions with absolute precision. An Incabloc shock protection system safeguards the movement against shocks. The movement’s finishing features fine circular graining on the mainplate and precise chamfering on the bridge edges.
Case & Material
The case measures exactly 39 mm in diameter and is made of satin-finished stainless steel, enhanced by a bezel made of 18-karat yellow gold. The flat-head screws securely connect the bezel to the middle case and guarantee water resistance up to 3 ATM. Visible chamfers along the case sides attest to the excellent edge finishing. The watch is completed by the characteristic Wave bracelet made of stainless steel and yellow gold.
Aesthetics & Readability
The deep black dial provides a striking contrast to the Roman numeral hour markers in yellow gold. A Tricompax arrangement of the sub-dials lends the layout the necessary symmetry, while the date window is discreetly integrated. A finely printed tachymeter scale runs along the outer flange. Precise, gold-plated hands ensure accurate time-reading, allowing the dial to remain highly functional despite its many indicators.
