Rolex GMT-Master Pepsi
Concept & History
The reference 16750 marks a significant evolutionary stage in the history of the model. Introduced as the successor to the previous series, this model combines established vintage aesthetics with significant technical advances. The 1984 model presented here represents exactly the transitional phase in which traditional design features such as the curved Plexiglas were retained. The characteristic red and blue bezel defines the uncompromisingly functional character of this historic pilot's watch, which was originally designed for civil aviation and continues to enjoy unbroken relevance in the world of collectors to this day.
Caliber & Technology
The reliable manufacture caliber works inside 3075. This plant operates with an increased frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and, for the first time in this series, integrates a date quick-change function with a capacity of 42 hours power reserve. A decisive advantage of this specimen is the Revision document from the year 2023. This comprehensive maintenance guarantees excellent amplitude and maximum mechanical reliability. The service carried out ensures that precise timekeeping is maintained at the expected manufacture level over the long term.
Housing & material
The housing with a diameter of 40 mm is made of resistant Stainless steel manufactured. The proportions have a harmonious shape with flowing flanks, which are characterized in the reference 16750 noticeably more delicate than later designs. The case architecture includes the screw-down winding crown, which was originally designed to be resilient and water-resistant up to 100 meters was designed. Slight signs of wear bear witness to an authentic history without impairing the substantial geometry of the case.
Aesthetics & readability
The deep black dial forms a precise contrast to the luminous indices for maximum legibility in all conditions. The dial is framed by the striking two-tone bezel, which primarily serves to clearly differentiate between the day and night hours. The mechanical display is protected by a historically correct acrylic glass, which lends the front a subtle visual depth. The red accentuated GMT hand reliably records a second time zone and underlines the functional orientation of the instrument watch.
