Concept & History
Ulysse Nardin was founded in 1846. The brand’s reputation was shaped by marine chronometers used in shipping. The Marine collection adapts the design of those dials to the wristwatch. The power reserve indicator is located at 12 o’clock, and the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The Maxi Marine Diver complements this design with the features of a diver’s watch. These include a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown, and water resistance to 200 m. Ref. 263-90-7M-93 combines a titanium case with a stainless steel bezel.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the watch is powered by the UN-26 automatic caliber. It is based on the ETA 2892-A2 and has been modified by Ulysse Nardin. The modifications include the power reserve indicator and the off-center small seconds hand. Automatic winding is provided by a central rotor. The movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (A/h), or 4 Hz. The power reserve is 42 hours. The date is displayed in a window at 6 o’clock. A sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the movement and rotor. The watch was serviced in 2025. A service receipt is included.
Case & Material
Das Gehäuse besteht aus Titan und misst 43 mm ohne Krone. Titan senkt das Gewicht gegenüber einer reinen Stahlausführung. Die Lünette aus Edelstahl ist unidirektional drehbar. Ihre Tauchskala dient der Kontrolle der Tauchzeit. Die Krone ist verschraubt. Saphirglas schützt das Zifferblatt. Das Gliederband greift die Materialkombination aus Titan und Edelstahl auf und schließt mit einer Faltschließe. Der Zustand ist sehr gut. Tragespuren sind kaum sichtbar.
Aesthetics & Readability
The blue dial features a wave pattern. This motif reflects the collection’s maritime origins. The vertical arrangement of the displays clearly structures the dial. The power reserve indicator is at the top, and the small seconds sub-dial with the date is at the bottom. The broad hands and hour markers are coated with luminescent material, ensuring readability even in low light. The package includes the original box and the service receipt from 2025. An original certificate is not included.
