Concept & History
Fortis introduced the redesigned Marinemaster in 2021. The M-44 is the larger of the two case sizes, alongside the M-40. The Black Resin Gold is a variant limited to 50 pieces worldwide. It replaces the steel bezel of the standard Black Resin model with an 18-karat yellow gold bezel. According to industry media, the gold-colored luminescent material creates a visual connection to diver’s watches from the 1950s and 1960s. This particular watch was first sold in 2026. It is in mint condition and is offered as a full set with the box and original paperwork.
Caliber & Technology
Inside, the watch is powered by the 11 movement. Fortis developed this automatic caliber in collaboration with Kenissi, and it is manufactured by Kenissi. It bears the COSC chronometer certification. The power reserve is 70 hours. The frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour, and the movement features 26 jewels. The balance wheel is held in place by a bridge with a two-point mounting. According to the manufacturer, this enhances the movement’s robustness. The watch displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The case back is solid and features an engraving.
Case & Material
The case measures 44 mm in diameter. It is made of recycled stainless steel, which Fortis claims to have introduced to the watch industry in 2021. The bidirectionally rotating Gear Bezel is made of 18-karat yellow gold. The Fortis Lock System secures the bezel in place. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial. The crown is screw-down and triple-sealed. The watch is water-resistant to 50 bar (500 m). The Horizon Strap, made of black FKM rubber, features the same design as the dial.
Aesthetics & Readability
The dial is black and features a Fortis-O pattern. Applied hour markers in gold-colored metal and gold-colored hands echo the tone of the bezel. The hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova X1. The contrast between the dark background and the gold-colored elements enhances readability even in low light. The case and overall appearance remain those of a diver’s watch.
