The last classic 40 mm Sea-Dweller
The Reference 116600 occupies a special place in modern Rolex history. Produced only between 2014 and 2017, it is considered a „short run“ reference and a potential classic of tomorrow. It is the first Sea-Dweller with a bezel made of Cerachrom ceramics, but at the same time marks the end of the classic 40 mm case size in this model series before the change to 43 mm. A decisive detail for purists: the sapphire crystal dispenses with the characteristic Cyclops magnifying glass above the date, which ensures undisturbed symmetry and technocratic aesthetics.
Professional specifications and dial finish
In contrast to the glossy dial of the Submariner, the Sea-Dweller 4000 features a satin-finished, matt black dial, which is reminiscent of historical vintage models. The case is equipped with the patented Helium outlet valve on the flank, necessary for saturation diving. The watch is powered by the proven Caliber 3135 with paramagnetic blue Parachrom spiral. The Oyster strap offers maximum flexibility: in addition to the Glidelockfine adjustment is also the fold-out Fliplock-extension, which means that the strap can also be worn over thick diving suits.
