IWC Pilot's Watch UTC Edition Antoine de Saint Exupéry
Homage to a pioneer of aviation
The IWC Pilot's Watch UTC in the „Edition Antoine de Saint Exupéry“, reference IW326104, is a rare collector's item that combines technical functionality with historical reference. The characteristic dial in tobacco brown with an elaborate Sunburst finish catches the light in a way that is reminiscent of the pilot's suits of the 1930s. The applied Arabic numerals and the striking propeller hands ensure the typical IWC legibility. A special detail for connoisseurs is the initial „A“ of the author and pilot, which is discreetly integrated into the dial design. The case back bears a detailed engraving of the P-38 Lightning - the plane in which Saint-Exupéry took off on his last reconnaissance flight.
Complication for world travelers
The UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) function makes this model technically impressive. The Caliber 30710 allows a second time zone to be read via an arched window at 6 o'clock. The hour hand of the local time can be adjusted in one-hour increments via the crown (TZC - Time Zone Corrector) without interrupting the movement - a design that proves extremely practical for everyday travel. The movement is protected by a Soft iron inner housing, which provides effective shielding against magnetic fields. This model from 2008, limited to 1,188 units, comes in the complete Full Set including a limited edition certificate and shows only minimal signs of wear on the case and Bezel on.
