With a strict limitation to only 500 copies presents the Reference IW371803 is one of the most coveted iterations of the Schaffhausen Pilot's Watch family. This edition was launched on the occasion of the partnership with the German Football Association (DFB) for the 2008 European Championship. Visually, this timepiece differs significantly from the classic black dials of the Pilot series: the silver-plated dial with the black totalizers in Panda look ensures striking readability and a visual freshness that is rarely found in this model series. A subtle reference to the special edition can be found in the small seconds and the hands of the stop function, which are accentuated in color.
The caliber and the technology
Inside the 44 mm stainless steel housing, the tried-and-tested Caliber 79230 its service. This is a highly complex mechanism that works around the Rattrapante mechanism (split-seconds hand) was added. The pusher at 10 o'clock can be used to stop a split time without interrupting the running time measurement - a complication that is considered technically demanding in watchmaking. To protect the movement from magnetic influences, a Soft iron inner housing which underlines the professional DNA of IWC pilot's watches. The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides is stabilized by vacuum protection in the event of rapid pressure drops. The case back is adorned with a special engraving that documents the limited edition and the occasion.
