IWC Ingenieur SL Jumbo Quartz 3303
Design and Genta history
The Reference 3303 is a horological rarity that is often overshadowed by its automatic sister (Ref. 1832), but is in no way inferior to it in terms of rarity and manufacturing quality. Designed by Gérald Genta, this model has the identical 40 mm housing of the legendary „Jumbo“ series. The striking bezel with the five characteristic holes and the perfect Integrated steel belt are witnesses to an era in which sports watches were redefined. The dial with its fine Guilloché (often referred to as a graph paper pattern) offers a technical aesthetic that perfectly captures the spirit of the Ingenieur line.
Caliber and technology
In this timepiece, the Caliber 2250, a high-precision quartz movement based on the ETA 955.412 and refined by IWC to the highest standards. At the time of the „quartz revolution“ around 1980, this was not an economy model, but an expression of the latest technology and precision. The soft iron cage that made the Ingenieur line famous also effectively protects the movement from magnetic fields. The present Proof of service from 2020 proves the professional maintenance of this collector's item. The condition can be classified as very good, whereby the Chamfers and the satin finish of the case have perfectly preserved the original geometry of the Genta design.
