TUDOR Prince Oysterdate Chronograph
Wanted „Pre-Tiger“ configuration & Rolex DNA
The TUDOR Prince Oysterdate Chronograph with the reference 79280 marks a historically significant transition in this version. In contrast to later models, the dial still bears the classic „Prince Oysterdate“ lettering, which directly assigns this timepiece to the early era of the 79280 series. The original Rolex components that were still used in this phase are of particular relevance for the collector's valuation: The winding crown and the screw-down case back bear the Rolex signature.
The authentic appearance is completed by the solid Oyster bracelet, which is clearly different from the five-row bracelets introduced later and emphasizes the proximity to the sister brand Rolex. The case itself follows the „small block“ design, which is flatter and more ergonomic than its predecessors, while the polished stainless steel bezel with tachymeter scale adds an elegant touch. Despite its status as a worn watch, the case and Oyster bracelet are in very well-kept condition with hardly any visible signs of wear - a rare example that combines TUDOR history with Rolex quality.
