Union Glashütte Belisar Chronograph Moon Phase
Concept & History
The Belisar collection from Union Glashütte combines traditional watchmaking with a sporty, robust architecture. The reference D002.425.16.037.00 integrates the complex mechanics of a full calendar with a chronograph into the line's characteristic design. The construction focuses on durability and a clear design language that authentically represents the Saxon location of the manufacture. Collectors appreciate the combination of functional complications and solid construction, which proves itself in everyday use.
Caliber & Technology
The timepiece is powered by the automatic movement U 7751 powered by the proven architecture of the Swiss base caliber ETA 7751 is built. The construction features 25 stones and delivers 48 hours Gang reserve at a frequency of 28,800 A/h. In addition to the chronograph function, the movement controls a clearly legible pointer date, the day of the week, the month, and the moon phase display. The finishing is evident through the sapphire crystal case back, where the rotor is refined with a fine Glashütte stripe finish.
Case & Material
The 42 mm case, made of stainless steel has a case height of 14.9 mm, which is moderate for a module chronograph. A distinctive feature is the screw-on flanks that protect the case body. The unscrewed pull-and-push crown features a double sealing system, which, together with the eight-screwed display case back, guarantees water resistance of 10 bar. Polished bevels and satin-finished surfaces define the profile. The lugs have a width of 22 mm.
Aesthetics & Readability
The white dial allows for quick reading of the displays despite the information density of the full calendar. The deep blue moon phase disc provides a color contrast. Applied indices and classic blued hands support clear readability. The current date is indicated by a central hand with a red crescent. The strap tapers from 22 millimeters on a closing spurt 20 mm. The watch shows only minor signs of wear on the clasp, and the sapphire crystal is flawless.
