Union Glashütte 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition Chronograph
Historical reference and aesthetics
Limited to just 300 copies, the Ref. D007.459.16.032.09 celebrates 130 years of Glashütte watchmaking artistry with an extraordinary dial architecture. In contrast to the standard series, this edition is characterized by a Silver-colored dial with vertical line cut, which creates a lively depth depending on the incidence of light. The finely azurized totalizers contrast subtly with the satin-finished background. Historical references can be found in the blued hands and the classic railroad minute track, which build a bridge to the manufactory's pocket watch roots. The 42 mm stainless steel case with its polished and satin-finished surfaces frames this face perfectly.
Caliber technology and finissage
The heart of the watch is the hand-wound caliber UNG-59.S1, which is visible in all its glory through the sapphire crystal case back. It has been specially modified to enable the classic bicompax arrangement without an interfering hour counter. Technically, the movement is state-of-the-art: a Silicon spiral guarantees resistance to magnetic fields and ensures high rate stability, while the power reserve is a comfortable 60 hours. The finish is typical Glashütte - striping on the three-quarter plate, blued screws and beveled edges testify to the meticulous craftsmanship. A collector's item that combines mechanical excellence with a striking, rare design.
