IWC Portugieser Chronograph Automatic Stainless Steel
The housing and design
The Reference IW371417 embodies the purist design language of the IWC manufactory from Schaffhausen. The stainless steel case has a diameter of 40.9 mm and impresses with its striking, narrow bezel, which lends the silver-plated dial an extraordinary presence. The vertical arrangement of the totalizers at 6 and 12 o'clock ensures harmonious symmetry, while the applied Arabic numerals and the characteristic feuille hands in blued steel create a subtle contrast to the bright appearance. The sapphire crystal is anti-reflective on both sides, which makes it easier to read the precise quarter-second scale on the dial. Rehaut optimized.
The caliber and technology
Inside, the Caliber 79350, a robust automatic movement with an oscillation frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz). The architecture of the movement is based on the proven Valjoux 7750, but has undergone extensive modifications and finishing at IWC in order to meet the brand's high standards. With a Power reserve of 44 hours and precise chronograph control, this timepiece offers mechanical reliability at the highest level. The fine chamfers on the case and the polished pushers underline the quality of craftsmanship that collectors have appreciated in this model series for decades.
