IWC Porsche Design Sportivo 02 Ref. 3320
Housing and material
The Reference 3320 comes from the pioneering cooperation between IWC Schaffhausen and Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The case is made entirely of Titanium a material that IWC pioneered in the watchmaking world in the 1980s. With a diameter of 32 mm and the flat design, the Sportivo 02 embodies the functional purism of Porsche design. The matt, gray surface of the titanium is extremely resistant and offers exceptional wearing comfort. A flat Sapphire crystal protects the dial from external influences, while the precisely finished case edges emphasize the high manufacturing quality of the era.
Work and function
Inside, the reliable IWC caliber 2210, A high-quality quartz movement known for its precision and durability. The electronic control ensures an exact rate that more than meets the requirements of an everyday watch. The integration of the movement into the slim case is what made the flowing design language for which this model series became famous possible in the first place. Despite its age of over 30 years, the movement has a stable functionality, which demonstrates the ease of maintenance of IWC components.
Aesthetics and details
The deep black dial forms a sharp contrast to the white baton hands and indices, which maximizes readability. The integrated rubber strap is particularly noteworthy - a technical detail that does not interrupt the clear lines. The discreet Rehaut perfectly frames the reduced sheet. This copy from 1993 is in a remarkable state of preservation with only minimal, barely visible traces on the Titanium flanks. The enclosed box shows signs of age-related wear, which is common with the original packaging of this era due to the nature of the material.
