The Reference 8992 is a direct homage to the „Corsa più bella del mondo“. The 42 mm case made of Stainless steel translates the aesthetics of historic racing cars into the language of haute horlogerie. A characteristic feature is the fixed bezel with engraved tachymeter scale, which enables speed measurement and underlines the sporty appeal. The black dial offers optimum readability in all conditions thanks to the generous luminous material on the indices and hands (Super-LumiNova). The integration of the GMT function A central hand with a red arrowhead allows a second time zone to be read off, positioned on the inner 24-hour scale.
Caliber and performance
It is driven by a mechanical chronograph movement based on the proven Valjoux 7754. This caliber is known for its reliability and ease of servicing. Chopard refines the movements and often has them certified as chronometers by the COSC, which guarantees a high degree of accuracy. The sapphire crystal case back (or solid case back with engraving, depending on the exact series, here mostly visible case back for 8992) provides a clear view of the movement. Finissage with perlage and Geneva stripes. The watch comes in a Full Set including box and papers. A completed Service in 2018 documents the maintenance history and ensures that the Amplitude and the tightness of the Crown and pushers were checked.
