The evolution of an icon
The Reference 216570 marks a significant milestone in the history of the Explorer II. Introduced to mark the 40th anniversary of the model series, this timepiece combines the robust DNA of an expedition instrument with modern manufacturing depth. Particularly noteworthy is the return of the striking orange-colored 24-hour hand, a tribute to the original „Freccione“ from 1971. Oystersteel has been adapted to modern 42 mm which gives the watch a present yet balanced aesthetic on the wrist.
The case and dial
The black dial impresses with the so-called „phantom look“ of the hand bases, which appear almost invisible against the dark background. The fixed bezel with 24-hour graduation, in combination with the separately adjustable GMT hand, allows precise differentiation between day and night hours - an essential feature for cave explorers and polar travelers. The solid Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety folding clasp and the practical Easylink extension ensures maximum wearing comfort under extreme conditions.
Precision on the inside
The housing contains the Manufacture caliber 3187. This movement features the patented Parachrome spiral and the Paraflex anti-shock system, which make the watch insensitive to vibrations and temperature fluctuations. With a power reserve of around 48 hours and COSC certification, this caliber embodies the reliability for which the manufacture from Geneva is valued worldwide. This unit from 2014 is offered with its original box and papers.
