Concept & History

The Junghans Meister Driver Chronoscope reflects the automotive era of the early modern age. The design is a precise reference to the instrument architecture of historical dashboards. The design under the Reference 027/3686.44 builds a coherent bridge between traditional watchmaking and the instrumentation of classic automobiles. It documents an era in which mechanical timekeeping and sporty driving were inextricably linked.

Caliber & Technology

The automatic movement takes over the drive J880.3, based on the ETA 2892-2, complemented by a chronograph module from Dubois Depraz. This architecture generates a constant amplitude and a power reserve of 42 hours. The caliber is presented on a fourfold screw-down exhibition back. The discreet finishing of the rotor and the plates underlines the high watchmaking standards of the Schramberg manufactory.

Case & Material

The polished Stainless steel measures 40.8 mm in diameter with a height of 12.6 mm. A curved Plexi tempered glass with SICRALAN coating protects the dial and significantly increases scratch resistance. The construction guarantees water resistance up to 3 ATM. A gray Calfskin strap with pin buckle fastens the chronograph securely to the wearer's wrist and continues the colorful design of the dial.

Aesthetics & Readability

The gray dial with sunburst effect lacquer adapts a strict speedometer look. Recessed totalizers in a bicompax arrangement create structural depth. Large minute numerals on the outer ring make it easier to record the stop times. Distinctive block hands and indices are covered with highly luminous Superluminova to ensure legibility in all lighting conditions. The polished case finish rounds off the functional design concept.
